About

I am a committed public servant with a Master of Arts in Strategic Communications and more than nine years of experience working in communications in Washington, DC. That experience includes more than six years in the federal government with nearly five years as a career employee at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and almost two years as an ORISE fellow at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. I have worked across four administrations and through three transitions. My exceptional writing and editing skills set me apart as well as my expertise in media relations, social media, partner engagement, internal communications, communications planning and project management. I have led the National Agricultural Statistics Service‘s public affairs team in the continued promotion of the 2022 Census of Agriculture, a congressionally-mandated census that provides a full count of all farms and farmers in the country. While at HHS, I worked on the Surgeon General’s 2016 report on addiction, among other projects. In between my fellowship and career government position, I worked for a nonprofit, the National Partnership for Women & Families, that advocates for policies such as paid leave, paid sick days, fair pay, and health care. While in grad school, I gained experience as an intern at a well-regarded public relations firm, Susan Davis International, that represents government-adjacent clients like the National Museum of the Marine Corps. Every step in my professional career since completing graduate school has involved working directly for or adjacent to the federal government. I hope to continue serving the public in my next position as I have for nearly 10 years.
