Cyber and National Security - Former Prosecutor

I started my career as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan, where I handled felony trials and appeals. After five years, I joined DOJ’s Office of Intelligence Policy and Review, where I initially worked on counterterrorism and counterintelligence FISA operations. Over the following sixteen years, I helped create and implement oversight of the U.S. Intelligence Community’s use of Section 702 of FISA, served as a Special AUSA in the Eastern District of Virginia, worked on national security cyber and immigration matters on National Security Council staff committees, and investigated and prosecuted cases in the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section (CCIPS) and Counterespionage Section (CES, later the Counterintelligence & Export Control Section). I handled a variety of cases involving the Espionage Act, Classified Information Procedures Act, Stored Communications Act, Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, and other authorities.
After about twenty-one years in public service, I joined Perkins Coie, where I counsel and represent clients in matters involving cybersecurity, national security, internal investigations, and law enforcement matters.
