About

From 1986 until 1990 I was in private practice with a law firm in Kansas City practicing real estate and corporate law. In 1990 I went to work as an attorney for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Regional Counsel in Kansas City, where I served primarily as a Superfund, hazardous waste (RCRA), and emergency response attorney. I was the Chief of the Superfund Branch in the Office of Regional Counsel until I retired in 2022. I was also a Senior Mediator for the Federal Executive Board where I meditated workplace disputes for the federal government for 23 years. I am a lecturer in environmental law at UMKC where I teach environmental law to 3rd year law students and 4th year engineering students. I’m a member of the Missouri and Kansas Bars. In addition to the areas of practice discussed above, I was very active in the reuse/redevelopment of formerly contaminated sites.
