About

I’m a strategic communications leader who thrives where stakes are high and trust is paramount. At the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute at National Institutes of Health, I led a nine-person media and engagement team that drove a 60-fold increase in proactively earned media impressions (from 656M in 2017 to 41B in 2024) while boosting enterprise social engagement (30% engagement rate increase on LinkedIn in 2024) for the world’s leading funder of heart, lung, blood, and sleep research ($4B annual budget). The creative policies and procedures my team and I developed fostered new relationships with journals and media partners, keeping our pipeline of potential story content fresh and our ability to reach key audiences strong. A former Emmy-winning journalist and Northwestern University graduate with a master’s in journalism, I build and mentor high-performing teams. Where others see complexity, I find clarity, translating science, policy, and high-stakes issues into accurate and accessible stories that build trust and spark action.
