About

I am a civil rights lawyer, with experience in education civil rights law (including Title IX, Title VI, and Disability Rights) as well as equal employment opportunity (including Title VII, Section 501 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the ADA, the No FEAR Act, and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act). I also have a decade of teaching experience in public elementary schools, and I am a trained mediator and professional development facilitator.

I also have extensive leadership experience, including as Executive Director of a nonprofit with a $2.5M budget, in areas such as fundraising, public speaking, employee supervision, and facilitating organizational change, especially related to equity initiatives. I am skilled in strategic planning, program design and implementation, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and project management. I have also repeatedly demonstrated the ability to efficiently and effectively resolve and prevent work backlogs, while building systems that are legally sound and designed to last.

I am a teacher at heart, and a collaborative leader who thrives in a diverse workplace and is dedicated to team-building and nurturing a healthy work environment. My professional toolkit includes an array of engagement-based facilitation and leadership skills, which I use to build connected, collaborative teams and integrate playfulness and joy into the workplace. I am also a published writer with strong communication skills. I have experience working with a broad assortment of civil rights policy documents at every level of government, and I excel at translating legal and policy writing into language that is accessible to a wide range of audiences.
