About
My name is Jonava Johnson I am the Family Engagement Specialist in the Office of Communications and Outreach (OCO), State and Local Engagement Division. Based in Atlanta, I serve as the resource person in helping parents, students, teachers and administrators with family engagement in conjunction with initiatives with other federal agencies such as the Departmentsof Health and Human Services and Labor. As the liaison for OCO I establish working relationships with other federal, state and local agencies, faith-based, and community-based organizations, to promote ED’s goals and initiatives. I advance ED’s family and community outreach by organizing conferences, town halls, meetings, listening and learning sessions and parent forums.
