About

I am a highly driven and successful event manager with more than 30 years of experience. My expertise is in the development, oversight and follow up for an event of any size. I possess exceptional organizational abilities and advanced communication skills. I bring my calm, nurturing, energetic and optimistic personality to all projects I work on.  Clients and colleagues recognize me as a proactive, high-energy, and inclusive leader.

Event planning has been a passion of mine for three decades. I bring a strong network of connections and proven ability to lead diverse teams of volunteers, vendors, members and employees.  I have extensive experience in managing well-coordinated meetings/programs in a team environment for high-level professionals, clientele and participants while providing stellar customer service. I have worked with government officials at all levels, foreign nationals, C-level suite executives, VIPs, Nobel Prize winners, NASA astronauts, research scientists from principal investigators to graduate students, deans of universities, television, movie and radio celebrities and athletes. My experience in planning events and programs ranges from small to large, international to domestic.

I have held event planning positions across many industries that have included science and health non-profit, profit, organizations and associations, pharmaceutical, government contracting services (HHS/NIH HHS/FDA, DOL, USDA contracts), education, investment banking, and entertainment industries in addition to the hotel side of the hospitality industry.

During my professional career I have accomplished many goals. A few are highlighted below:

  • Managed all facets of public federal government meetings and a team of planners. Collaborated with a minimum of 5 different divisions and offices at all times within the agency.

  • Managed and programmed a yearly conference series of 30-40 programs which ranged in size from 50–1000+ attendees taking place during a ten-week timeframe in multiple domestic and international venues. All conferences were within in budget and profitable.

  • Increased the number of programs from <35 to >40-50 on a rotating schedule.

  • Developed, budgeted managed, tracked and processed finances for a $4M project.

  • Negotiated multi-year contracts to lower costs by 15-25%.

  • Conceptualized, developed, standardized, streamlined and implemented processes and procedures for established manual systems to an automated process.

  • Managed a staff 6 and 100+ volunteers in multiple capacities. Trained and mentored junior level staff.

  • Created and managed databases, queries and reports to track project requirements.

  • Provide exceptional customer service.

I have very successfully maneuvered the delicate balance between dedication to an organization’s mission, the need for strong oversight, and the application of thorough business management. I believe deeply in developing a strong collaborative team and a compassionated and equitable working environment to achieve an organization’s strategic plan and financial goals. Given the opportunity, I am confident in my ability to help any organization achieve its mission, vision and lead it to great success.
