About

I’m Kianna Nichols, a people-centered Human Capital Leader with over 17 years of experience driving federal HR operations, workforce development, and organizational transformation. I currently serve as a Division Director at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, where I oversee a 40+ member HR team, lead enterprise-wide staffing strategies, and direct multimillion-dollar projects aligned with national workforce priorities.

My passion for equitable talent systems and strategic project execution led me to complete certifications in Project Management and Human Resources (Levels I–III), while also preparing for the SHRM-CP exam. Over the course of my federal career, I’ve stood up new HR divisions, led agency-wide reorganizations, implemented DEIA-aligned performance systems, and served as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on policy development and HR compliance.

Prior to my current executive role, I directed geographically dispersed teams across classification, staffing, and remote workforce policy initiatives—spearheading modernizations that integrated federal mandates with platforms like Workday HCM. I’ve led high-impact change management efforts, created agency-wide training programs, and improved employee engagement by building transparent, mission-driven HR infrastructures from the ground up.

As I continue to grow in the HR and systems leadership space, I’m particularly interested in roles that intersect human capital strategy, HR technology implementation, and inclusive organizational development—especially those that allow me to build agile HR teams, optimize digital workflows, and align people operations with long-term mission goals.

Let’s connect to discuss strategic HR planning, federal-to-private HR transitions, and how I can support your team through results-driven people operations, technology integration, and inclusive leadership.
