I am a forest scientist with nearly 15 years of domestic and international experience in forest carbon accounting, forest monitoring, and carbon markets. My work focuses on translating complex forest science and data into practical, policy-relevant insights that support sustainable forest management, carbon accounting, and nature-based climate solutions.
I am the Principal Owner of Seris Forest Analytics, where I collaborate with public- and private-sector clients to convert forest science and data into actionable insights for sustainable management, forest products trade policy, and forest resources reporting. My work includes developing greenhouse gas quantification tools and methodologies, performing and reviewing technical analyses for carbon projects, and supporting defensible interpretation of forest carbon data across decision-making contexts.
Previously, I served with the USDA Forest Service, Research & Development, where I provided national leadership on carbon dynamics in U.S. forests and grasslands. In that role, I managed the Forest Sustainability Assessment Program and led or contributed to major national and international reporting efforts. I was a coordinating lead author for the 2024 USDA guidance on greenhouse gas accounting for forest management, which has since been adopted across federal agencies for NEPA analyses and climate impact monitoring. I also authored the 2020 National Report on Sustainable Forests, synthesizing conditions and trends across more than 50 biophysical and socioeconomic indicators of U.S. forest sustainability.
I have represented the United States in multiple international processes, including as the Forest Inventory and Analysis International Analysis Lead for the U.S. submission to the FAO Global Forest Resources Assessment and as a member of the Montreal Process Working Group. I am an appointed UNFCCC Technical Expert Reviewer and have served as an advisor on carbon markets, carbon project methodologies, and federal grant programs.
Earlier in my career, I spent seven years at Winrock International as a Senior Program Associate in the Ecosystem Services Unit, where I led carbon accounting and forest monitoring work for national REDD+ programs, forest landscape restoration initiatives, and global emissions databases. This work supported public- and private-sector clients including USAID and the World Bank and contributed to more than $10 million in successful project proposals. I have co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on forest carbon, deforestation, and restoration.
I hold a joint MSc in Sustainable Tropical Forestry through the Erasmus Mundus program, with study at the University of Copenhagen and Dresden University of Technology, and dual bachelor’s degrees in Geography & Urban Studies and Art History from Temple University. I am near fluent in Portuguese and Italian and conversational in Spanish.
I grew up as the child of U.S. State Department diplomats, living in Brazil, India, Italy, and Portugal. That upbringing shaped both my global perspective and my ability to work across cultures, disciplines, and policy environments—skills that continue to inform how I approach forest science, stakeholder engagement, and climate-relevant decision-making.
