I worked as a Government Information Specialist (GS-15) with deep expertise in Privacy Act compliance, information governance, and implementation in the information technology lifecycle within the federal government. I reserached complex issues and advised executives on courses of action to advance program goals. Since the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) included Privacy controls in the Security control catalog in 2021, I was instrumental in growing the IRS privacy compliance assessment program of information systems. I worked closely with IT to implement strategies for embedding protections for a smoother Authorization to Operate (ATO) and created collaborations enterprise-wide to ensure protections of personally identifiable information (PII) were in place.
