About

I am a former federal prosecutor and experienced trial lawyer who, since rejoining Jones Day, has been trusted by major companies to handle sensitive internal investigations, government-facing litigation, and complex commercial disputes. I currently represent businesses and individuals in high-stakes civil and criminal cases involving allegations of fraud, breach of contract, and possible violations of federal law, including the Taft-Hartley Act, Foreign Corrupt Practice Act, and False Claims Act.

Before joining Jones Day, I was an Assistant United States Attorney in Detroit where I prosecuted cases involving multimillion dollar securities fraud, telemarketing fraud, money laundering, bribery, public corruption, embezzlement, identity theft, federal racketeering (RICO), and criminal tax violations. While I was a federal prosecutor, my trial victories included the convictions of a Detroit police officer engaged in substantial fraud, national leaders of a violent motorcycle club, leaders of one of the largest drug trafficking organizations in Michigan history, and an international gun trafficker. I have also successfully briefed and argued multiple appeals before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

From 2012 through 2013, I was the DOJ's Resident Legal Advisor to the U.S. Embassy in Bangladesh where I helped revise Bangladesh's Anti-Terrorism Act, trained prosecutors and investigators from the Bangladesh Central Bank, and trained judges on antiterrorism and rule of law issues from several countries in South Asia, including Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, and the Maldives. I have also has trained government officials in Kenya and Brazil.
