Special Assistant to the Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa
U.S. Department of State(DOS), Bureau of African Affairs
District of Columbia
Former Diplomat, Africa and Human Rights

I am an international justice and human rights specialist focused on African politics and conflict. I have more than ten years' experience in the U.S. government, civil society, and UN, where I have built expertise on transitional justice, international humanitarian and human rights law, political trends, peace building, and atrocity prevention. I have worked in or on a variety of conflict and post-conflict situations in Africa - including Ethiopia, Sudan, the Great Lakes Region, the Central African Republic, The Gambia, and Liberia - to promote and operationalize justice for victims and build stronger democracies. I am passionate about ensuring human rights and democratic standards to build a more just and peaceful world.
