About

About

I am a USA TODAY best-selling author and a strategic communications leader with 5+ years of experience shaping public narratives for humanitarian, peacebuilding, and democracy initiatives to build trust, inspire action, and raise visibility.

I've influenced revenue:

  • Authored impact storytelling and donor-facing content for Preemptive Love Coalition's Giving Tuesday campaign, which raised $800,000+, one of Preemptive Love's most successful campaigns.

  • Wrote and curated storytelling about Gaza, Palestine, and Israel following the October 7th attacks for Search for Common Ground, resulting in an $80,000 single private donation driven directly by my content.

  • Mentored German business leaders at Bundesbank, Land Rover, LaFarge, and others on presentation skills and strategic messaging, resulting in 83%+ client retention rate, well above the industry average.

I've strengthened institutions:

  • Developed key messaging, video scripts, and Democracy Delivers Initiative's UNGA 79 social media toolkits, earning recognition from the USAID Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean, USAID/Moldova, and USAID/Pacific Islands.

  • Designed and led strategic communications workshops for 20+ USAID Mission Directors across a 10-country initiative, strengthening cross-country collaboration and local comms infrastructure across the initiative.

  • Led content and creative direction for Preemptive Love's 2022 Impact Report, whose quality was a direct factor in Search for common Ground retaining the entire Preemptive Love marketing team post-acquisition.

  • Co-managed AUIS's first US State Department English Access Micro-Scholarship Program for 75 students in Kurdistan, Iraq. The program's success led to a renewed grant, beat out 8 other competing regional institutions.

I've developed teams:

  • I led and coached 7 part-time writers at Search for Common Ground, providing editorial feedback and direction, which elevated team output and brand voice cohesion across politically sensitive, multi-country campaigns.

  • I trained a class of 8 teachers to run the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education's teacher training center, who now train other educators across the Iraqi higher ed system.

  • I created and implemented an active-learning online curriculum at AUIS to onboard 30+ faculty members new to online teaching at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring a continuity of learning.

I’m an award-winning literary fiction/nonfiction author who regularly speaks at literary and civic events.
