Dedicated and committed behavioral health leader

I am a dedicated behavioral health leader with a background in social work. I have been committed to serving the American people for decades, starting with my passion to help others, including my Peace Corps volunteer experience and my social work education. I was a Presidential Management Fellow Class of 2011, and began my federal career as a public health advisor, managing integrated care grants. As a government project officer, I visited mental health and substance use treatment clinics across the country, working with trainers and experts to ensure grant programs were meeting the needs of the people receiving services and in compliance. I obtained my contracting officer representative (COR) certificate, keeping it active at the highest level, level III. I used my COR certificate to manage several multi-million contracts to help states, counties, and community based organizations and providers. I continue to advocate and represent the clients that I’ve worked with, ensuring their stories are not forgotten. Their resilience helps center the work I do every day. I continued to be promoted throughout my federal career, and ended up as the deputy director for our office focused on behavioral health equity, ensuring that all populations have access to quality services and outcomes. I helped grow this office from a team of 5 to 14 people within 18 months, wrote and executed its first contract which secured the office’s initiatives and activities for the fiscal year, and helped the team thrive and grow.
