Brian Levine is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of FormerGov.com. Brian started working on Former Gov because, despite his significant government network, he found it difficult to search for and find former government expertise. When he is not working on FormerGov, he consults on cybersecurity, data privacy, cyberlaw, and responsible AI.
Brian has an extensive public service background, having worked at the federal, state, and local level. Most recently, Brian served as a federal cybercrime prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice, and National Coordinator for the 300 Computer Hacking and IP Prosecutors nationwide. Brian also served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Internet & Technology Bureau of the New York Attorney General's Office. Brian has also served as a prosecutor in Wayne County, Michigan (Detroit), and clerked for judges in U.S. District Court for the Southern Districtof Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Brian has also worked for international law and consulting firms, including Ernst & Young (EY), Morrison & Foerster and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. Brian graduated with a BA from the University of Pennsylvania (summa cum laude) and a JD from New York University School of Law (magna cum laude). Max Lang is a Co-Founder of Former Gov, and a dynamic marketing strategist and business growth leader known for driving significant momentum and building impactful ventures. His role at Former Gov is to lead business and marketing programs to ensure that members find value in their presence on the platform, and to ensure that the company's message is seen, heard, and felt far and wide. He spent time driving growth at The World Poker Tour, a decade at Marriott International and The Ritz-Carlton, and several other agencies and corporations before partnering with Brian to launch Former Gov.

Emily Pierce is a veteran journalist and communications professional who has more than two decades of experience at the nexus of public policy, legal affairs, and communications. Working with Attorneys General Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch as well as Deputy Attorneys General Sally Yates and Jim Cole, she helped lead the Justice Department’s Office of Public Affairs, where she was deeply involved in promoting the department’s law enforcement and public policy priorities. As a journalist at CQ and then-Roll Call newspaper, Emily covered and then edited national news stories spanning 17 years, including the Iraq war, the Affordable Care Act, the 2008 financial crisis, and presidential elections from 2000 to 2012, to name a few.
